Three Main Cosmos H3 Components - Plus Optional Extras

1. The Robotic Computer-Controlled Pan/Tilt/Zoom Cameras

   Cosmos H3 includes 2-7 robotic (computer-controllable pan/tilt/zoom) cameras and you can choose from five camera models (shown left to right here):single-chip (Sony EVI-HD1, H100S or BRC-Z330) or 3-chip (Sony BRC-Z700 or BRC-H700, right). Pick the cameras that fit your performance needs and budget. These popular Sony robotic cameras have excellent video quality and performance. Panning and tilting through wide angles of motion, superb optical zoom, and set up for HD-SDI for true hi-def studio-quality peformance. They also support both RS232 and RS422 (long distance over 1000 meters, not available on EVI-HD1) control signals. In addition the cameras can be mounted either 'up' or 'hanging upside down' for your convenience (except for EVI-HD1, 'up' only).

2. FULL HD-SDI Datavideo SE-3000 (8, 12, or 16-input) HD-SDI Switcher

   DataVideo's fully HD SE-3000 8/12/16-source switcher has inputs for 8 HD-SDI and (optionally) 4 or 8 additional up-converted SD-SDI sources. It's easy to set up as many as 7 HD-SDI cameras and also have a PC graphics input, all on the basic SE-3000-8 for a flexible multi-purpose HD production. The SE-3000 switcher is a proven winner that handles all the inputs and lets you switch smoothly from one video source to another using wipes, fades, advanced digital effects, multiple keying sources and built-in still-store. The whole SE-3000 is configurable using its own touch-screen and you have an amazingly flexible and powerful system with 8 HD-SDI inputs and optional extra inputs for legacy sources that get up-converted to HD and all SE-3000s are designed for operation using one or two multi-view monitors.

   • The Multi-View Video Monitor

     Accompanying the SE-3000 switcher is DataVideo's 17" HD-SDI LED-backlit LCD monitor. The LCD displays all video source and output signals for simultaneous view (multi-view). This monitor has 2 HDMI, VGA, YUV (component), S-video, and 2 composite video inputs - all user selectable, and selectable SD or HD aspect ratio (4:3 or 16:9). You can use it for all your display monitor needs and it's perfect as the multi-view display for all Cosmos HD-SDI hi-def systems.
     

     • The Cosmos Software

       Tying together the whole package is the software heart of the Cosmos H3 system: the Cosmos software package (for Windows PCs). Cosmos software gives you detailed direct camera positioning (pan, tilt, zoom, focus, and more), preset-positions, and video settings (white balance, backlight, brightness) for the robotic cameras. And the Cosmos software also communicates with the SE-2000 switcher to allow direct operation of the 'wipe' and 'preset camera' selection functions from the camera control GUI. With this powerful package of software you can control all your cameras individually, set up your shots, and switch video sources on the SE-3000. Cosmos is an invaluable integration of camera-control with switcher operations for use with live production setups like small studios, churches, meeting rooms, and more. Now Cosmos robotic cameras can become integrated with the SE-3000 into a studio-like operating environment in a single package that can be run by one person PC (even a laptop or tiny netbook) console. And it's extremely easy to install and use - you can get going in a few minutes.

       Cosmos Software Details:

       • Control up to 7 robotic cameras (for the 8 HD-SDI inputs to the SE-3000 switcher - special configuration allows 5 cameras)
       • Cosmos communicates and interacts with your robotic cameras *and* with the SE-3000 Switcher:
         • When you select a camera on Cosmos, that cam is selected on the Preview (SUB) row of your SE-3000 Switcher
         • When you manually select a camera on the SE-3000 Switcher's Preview (SUB) row, that camera is activated for interactive control in the Cosmos software GUI
         • Cosmos also has controls to activate the 'TAKE' and 'AUTO' functions of your SE-3000 Switcher so you can position a cam and then switch it to main output directly from the Cosmos software
       • Control positioning of your cameras 5 ways:
         • mouse click/drag to position camera interactively
         • buttons for small-increment up/down/left/right motions
         • click-and-hold buttons for slow smooth continuous pan/tilt motions
         • 6 presets of pan/tilt/zoom and all camera settings, 4 additional presets of pan/tilt/focus/zoom
         • all operations (pan, tilt, etc.) can be handled by the optional Contour ShuttlePro control surface (plugs into a USB port)
       • Additional controls are provided for:
         • White Balance, Backlight, and Brightness, Iris, Gain, and many more 'optical' adjustments
         • Focus - in/out/auto/manual : Zoom - in/out/maximum/minimum
         • On-screen data display (available on some camera models) and video on/off
         • 9 user-configurable 'Macro' buttons for scripted sequences of camera motions and operations
         • One-button 'AutoTour' feature for touring the presets with user-selectable 'dwell time'
         • Most commands are supported on the GUI and through your keyboard.
       • All features are also remotely controllable via TCP/IP network with all support tools included.

       	High Definition Hard Drive Recorders The Datavideo HDR-60 hard drive DVR records with HD-SDI input and has HDMI output for HD playback. The HD-SDI input also loops through to permit further transmission to other devices. Records in 1920x1080i, 1080p, 720p, and 576i (PAL) and 480i (NTSC). Selectable bit rates from 5-15Mbps (SD) and 20-60Mbps (HD). Then you pop out its removable drive cartridge and connect (USB) to your PC or MAC to transfer video files for editing. With a 320 Gigabyte hard drive (included), the HDR-60 can record and store over 12 hours of video at 60Mbps (up to 142 hours at 5Mbps). Additional Product Information Notes

• Cosmos H3 systems require one available COM port (for camera control) and a 2nd COM port if you wish to also have the software control the SE-3000. Cosmos software runs on a Windows PC (PC not included) for simultaneous control of both the cameras and the switcher (you can turn the switcher control feature on or off). If you elect to control the switcher manually, the Cosmos software will work with only one COM port.
• Cosmos H3 systems are fully compatible with all the built-in capabilities of the SE-3000
• All components are original factory packages with full manufacturer warranty.
• Cosmos software upgrades free for 1 year.
• Video and control cables are not included. They are easy to obtain locally in the lengths you require for your installation. We provide the control-wiring diagram for easy hookup of the control cabling which is a 'chain' linking the cams to a single PC COM port.
• Cameras can be mounted on tripods, user-built small shelves, or hanging from ceiling mount plates that are included. Wall-mount brackets are available but not included.
• Real telephone support after the sale is included with every system.
