Documentation:

You may edit these settings carefully:

1. don't change the left side of the = signs (these are parameter names
the program needs to see, e.g. 'UserNote')

2. don't eliminate any lines

3. don't do silly things like set COMQ - the settings need to be sensible,
so you can do, e.g., COM3 or COM5 and for some items, you can set either
NO
or
YES (no other spellings or lowercase will be recognized).

DON'T REMOVE ANY OF THESE SETTINGS LINES EVEN IF YOU THINK THEY DON'T PERTAIN TO YOU.

EDIT CAREFULLY - DON'T ADD INADVERTENT SPACES, PUNCTUATION MARKS, ETC.

BE SURE YOU 'SAVE' THE PVCRSettings.txt FILE AFTER EDITING.

YOU MUST CLOSE AND RE-START THE XVCR/PVCR PROGRAM TO LET IT SEE ANY NEW
SETTINGS. THE Settings.txt FILE IS READ ONLY ONCE AT THE TIME THE PROGRAM
STARTS.

SETTINGS OPTIONS

1. COMPort=COM1 - you may change this to COM2, etc. for your app.

2. VCRType=RS422 - It sets up some features for use with the VCR device. XVCR/PVCR can also have this set to LANC instead of RS422 (requires a LANC adapter of course).

6. NetSocket and AutoEnable only pertain to the PVCR (networking) version,
but don't remove them in any case. NetSocket is the network TCP/IP socket
you wish to use to remotely control the XVCR program over your network.
AutoEnable lets you choose whether remote users can connect immediately
after the PVCR program starts or whether you wish to enable them manually
from the 'Enable Connection' button on the PVCR GUI.

7. UserNote - xxxxxxxxxx is a string of up to 10 characters that will appear on the GUI (useful to distinguish multiple copies of XVCR running at the same time)

8. UseClipboard - NO - if you change this to YES then *every* timecode 'read' will transfer to the PC's 'clipboard' and you can 'paste' it into some other program like a text editor, etc. This slows down your PC a bit and also prevents you from using the 'clipboard' to cut and paste other things.

9. StopOnExit - YES tells the program to stop the VCR play when you quit.
If you set it to 'No' then the VCR program will continue to play if that's
what you were doing, etc.

10. Preroll is for an editing implementation of PVCR/XVCR (VCR2VCR or DVD2VCR). Does nothing in this version, but don't remove it.

11. MCS - No means you are not using the JLCooper MCS-enabled version of XVCR or PVCR. You need to purchase that version if you intend to use the JL Cooper MCS2 to control the VCR and it will need its own COM port connection to the PC for XVCR/PVCR to work. Don't change this.

12. MCSCOMPort - COM2 is there as a placeholder for those who are using the
MCS-enabled version of XVCR/PVCR, but it only has meaning for them. It is
the setting to tell XVCR/PVCR which COM port you're using for the JLCooper
MCS2.
