Videobotics XDVD software for Windows gives you a VCR-like control panel for your
Pioneer DVD-V7400 DVD player. And XDVD lets your V7400 act like a real VCR, with real
SMPTE time code features. You can also use XDVD to log footage from a DVD to a standard-
format EDL. XDVD works also with Pioneer DVD-V7200.

XDVD has VCR-like controls and provides a number of powerful
capabilities not ordinarily found in the V7400/7200 DVD player:
- real SMPTE timecode readout - updated up to 30 times per second. Timecode can be read out, viewed, and cued on DVD Titles that have time code that is accessible to the DVD-V7400/7200.
- cue-inpoint and cue-outpoint timecode fields to set start and stop times of a
clip you can isolate for review
- a shuttle-slider and jog buttons to manipulate the DVD playback speed and isolate
small movements of the DVD time
- a logging window to isolate start/stop times of a series of up to 100 clips you can save
as an EDL text file (CMX 3400 style EDL file)
- a Settings text file you can edit to set up:
- the COM port you wish to use to connect to the DVD player control port
- an optional 'timecode offset' to let you match the timecode readout to
a 'burned' timecode on the DVD
- optional DVD Title # from which to start playing (for DVDs with multiple titles)
when the program starts
- and more.
- UserNote text file you can use to create a small displayed message (to helpful to individually identify multiple copies of XDVD running simultaneously)
- Script text file for scripted sequences of operations, using a very simple text command set including marking cue-in and cue-out time codes, play, pause, slow-mo, cue, clip review, clip repeat, and more.
- DVD Title and Chapter direct numerical entry and 'next/previous' controls
- Indicator for DVD Title tracks which do not have time-code
- optional ability to utilize the JL Cooper MCS2 controller to operate the V7400/7200
player (jog wheel with play/pause/FF/REW buttons, etc.) through a 2nd COM port
(MCS-capability is $100 additional - see pricing, below).
PDVD Software
Videobotics NEW PDVD software is a network-enhanced version of XDVD which adds the
ability to control the V7400/7200 and XDVD functions play functions over any TCP/IP
network (or internet) and obtain time readout at a remote location as well.
For custom control panels using Java Applets, Servlets, or other network access
features, contact Videobotics. Or you can write simple scripts and control command
lines using the Rebol language (available *free* at http://www.rebol.com).
DVD2VCR Software
NEW! - Edit from DVD to tape! Videobotics NEW DVD2VCR software controls *both* the
Pioneer V7400 *and* a RS422-type professional editing VCR or LANC VCR (like Sony
UVW-1800, BVW series, and other '9-pin protocol' or LANC VCRs). DVD2VCR software
requires cables for both the DVD and the VCR. Only $599.95 (software).

NOTE: DVD2VCR *ONLY* works with RS422/9-pin *editing* VCRs and LANC VCRs (including many Sony and Canon camcorders). DVD2VCR does *not* work with Panasonic 1960 or other proprietary, non-standard VCRs.
