• MDVD Single-Player Control Program

  Videobotics MDVD software for Windows gives you up to 4 VCR-like control panels for your Pioneer DVD-V7400 DVD players and a MultiPlayer window that lets you simultaneously control up to 4 DVD-V7400 units at once. Each MDVD window gives you advanced VCR-like control of one V7400 at a time, and the MultiPlayer window ties it all together with many advanced features for multiple unit control. MDVD lets your V7400 act like a real VCR, with real SMPTE time code features. You can also use MDVD to log footage from a DVD to a standard- format EDL. MDVD works also with Pioneer DVD-V7200. When you want to run multiple DVD players, you run one copy of MDVD for each one - and you get four copies of MDVD which each has its own settings (COM port for the DVD, etc.). The MultiPlayer (see more below) uses networking technology (completely transparent to the user) to communicate with up to 4 running copies of the MDVD program (each controlling its own V7400 or V7200) simultaneously as a 'master control' panel.

  Each MDVD controls one DVD-V7400 with professional VCR-like controls and provides a number of powerful capabilities not ordinarily found in the V7400/7200 DVD player:

  • real SMPTE timecode readout - updated up to 30 times per second. Timecode can be read out, viewed, and cued on DVD Titles that have time code that is accessible to the DVD-V7400/7200.
  • cue-inpoint and cue-outpoint timecode fields to set start and stop times of a clip you can isolate for review
  • a shuttle-slider and jog buttons to manipulate the DVD playback speed and isolate small movements of the DVD time
  • a logging window to isolate start/stop times of a series of up to 100 clips you can save as an EDL text file (CMX 3400 style EDL file)
  • a Settings text file you can edit to set up:
    • the COM port you wish to use to connect to the DVD player control port
    • an optional 'timecode offset' to let you match the timecode readout to a 'window-burned' timecode on the DVD
    • optional DVD Title # from which to start playing (for DVDs with multiple titles) when the program starts
    • and more.
  • UserNote text file you can use to create a small displayed message (to helpful to individually identify multiple copies of MDVD running simultaneously)
  • Script text file for scripted sequences of operations, using a very simple text command set including marking cue-in and cue-out time codes, play, pause, slow-mo, cue, clip review, clip repeat, and more.
  • DVD Title and Chapter direct numerical entry and 'next/previous' controls
  • Indicator for DVD Title tracks which do not have time-code

• MultiPlayer Master Control Program

  The MultiPlayer program ties together your control capability for multiple simultaneously running MDVD programs. In other words, it's a layered approach: each MDVD controls one V7400 and the MultiPlayer controls up to 4 MDVD programs.

  You can run 1, 2, 3, or 4 copies of MDVD (each from within its own folder, with its own settings) on any combination of Pioneer V7400 and V7200 players. Then when you want to have one program window to control them ALL, you run the MultiPlayer program and you can command all your MDVD programs to work together. You can have up to 4 players simultaneously Play, Pause, Cue, and more. You can even have up to 10 user-definable command scripts that can be transmitted simultaneously to all your players.

  MultiPlayer MDVD is the ultimate in flexibility - you can control each DVD individually (with its own MDVD program) or all at once (with the MultiPlayer pulling the strings on all the MDVD programs). MultiPlayer intelligently senses how many MDVD programs are running and forms a network connection to all of them. Each MDVD program has built-in network technology to receive incoming commands (like our PDVD program, but a little simplified for ease-of-use) from MultiPlayer. Meanwhile, MultiPlayer actually shows you the timecode readout of the first DVD player! You can perform almost all the same operations on all 4 players at once that you can on each of them individually.

  If you want to run 1 or 2 DVD players sometimes, and 3 or 4 units other times, no problem - MultiPlayer handles it with ease.

  Each MDVD program has its own DVD timecode logging window so you can load and save real EDL files (CMX-3400 format) and have sequences of clips all lined up for cueing.
