CosmosHD includes 2-4 robotic (computer-controllable pan/tilt/zoom) cameras and you can choose from two video mixer/switchers: either low-cost Datavideo SE500 standard definition video mixer or full hi-definition Datavideo SE1000 depending on your needs and budget. By choosing CosmosHD you get true HD cameras you can use today as either standard definition (SD) or in full HD. That means you can start today with a full HD video system or migrate to full HD without changing cams in the future - just upgrade to video mixer to the Datavideo SE1000 later when you wish to. The Sony EVI-HD1 cams can operate either as SD (with letterbox or 'cropped' output on normal SD video equipment like our low-cost SE500 switcher/mixer) or as HD (full HD production requires the Datavideo SE1000 HD video switcher/mixer).
The Sony EVI-HD1 robotic cameras have excellent video quality and performance - with 2 megapixel video sensors!. Panning and tilting through wide angles of motion, superb 10x optical zoom, and dual video output of Y/C and composite for SD switchers as well as analog-component and HD-SDI output for true HD. They also support RS232 (COM port) control from your PC running our full-featured CosmosHD camera control software.
DataVideo's popular professional broadcast SE500 switcher has inputs for up to 4 cameras with Y/C and composite inputs as well as audio for each channel. The SE500 switcher is a proven winner that handles all the inputs and lets you switch smoothly from one video source to another using wipes, fades, and other effects (with audio following the video as you switch). Datavideo's SE500 switcher offer a full broadcast-quality 4-camera portable desktop video capability to your church, conference room, or other 'studio' environment (with built-in frame-sync on all channels). And CosmosHD lets you integrate the flexible power of the SE500 with advanced computer-control of robotic cameras for a compact studio centered on a single PC or laptop.
Accompanying the SE500 switcher is DataVideo's dual LCD monitor kit designed onto a purpose-built bracket which fits around the SE500 switcher itself. The monitors accept composite video and have 'pass-thru' (or can be terminated with 75Ohms). The 7" LCDs displays all four source video signals on one of the monitors (quad-split) and the main output video on the other screen.

When using the SE1000, you simply set the Sony EVI-HD1 cameras to their HD operating mode and you have a complete HD-SDI system. The SE1000 switcher is a proven winner that handles all the inputs and lets you switch smoothly from one video source to another using wipes, fades, and other effects. Datavideo's SE1000 switcher also offers a DVI input for a sixth source coming from a computer graphics card DVI ouput. It's a full broadcast-quality HD multi-camera portable desktop video capability for your church, conference room, or other 'studio' environment (with built-in frame-sync on all channels). And CosmosHD lets you integrate the flexible power of the SE1000 with advanced computer-control of robotic cameras for a compact studio centered on a single PC or laptop. The SE1000 can output to your flat screen or project HD display - so you have real HD from cameras all the way through to your display.
Accompanying the SE1000 switcher is DataVideo's six-way 5" LCD monitor kit designed onto a purpose-built bracket which fits around the SE1000 switcher itself. The LCDs display all five source video signals and the main output video. The six monitors consist of TWO Datavideo TLM-433 3-monitor banks.
Tying together the whole package is the software heart of the CosmosHD system: the Cosmos software package (for Windows PCs). Cosmos software gives you detailed direct camera positioning (pan, tilt, zoom, focus, and more), preset-positions, and video settings (white balance, backlight, brightness) for the robotic cameras. And the Cosmos software also communicates with the SE-800AV switcher to allow direct operation of the 'wipe' function from the camera control GUI. With this powerful package of software you can control all your cameras individually and switch video sources on the SE-800AV.
